The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle

Wren Gray and Charlie Parker are from two very different walks of life. Wren has always been sheltered, fairly predictable and has always done what's expected of her. Charlie comes from a rough background of foster homes that didn't work out and has never had the stability of a good home and all that a good upbringing would reap. Chemistry and coincidence bring the two together and the rest is the result of teen angst, hormones and natural chemistry. The story follows the hot summer of Wren and Charlie as the fall in love. We get the fervent details of their affair from both perspectives. From their first kisses to their first fight, readers are held captive by the intense portrayal of the fiery emotions in the couple's journey of finding each other and, in turn, themselves.

The author was able to convey the experience of falling in love for the first time really well. Throughout reading this novel, I was taken back to the time in my life when I thought of myself as grown-up and wise (yeah, hindsight is 20/20!). Oh, to be eighteen again: the ups and downs, the hormones you can't control, the self-discovery that come with time. This novel is packed with raw emotions and thoughts that, I think, everyone could relate to at one point in their adolescent lives. Though I'd love to find out what happens to Wren and Charlie, while reading, a part of me hoped that they would not have a happily ever after--a nice dose of reality, y'know...

Friday Night Alibi by Cassie Mae

We've all gone through the point in our lives when we need an alibi to go out with that cute guy that the parentals don't approve of. Well, the heroine of this story, Kelli, has the right idea--banking off the rest of us. At a nominal fee, Kelli will be the alibi for her friends on a given Friday night. All is well for Kelli's...until she meets Chase. Enter the cute guy with the attitude--you know, the annoying one that's sooooo sure of himself. The one that Kelli denies any attraction to but is secretly crushing on. So secret that she can't admit it to herself! The more time she spends with him, the messier things get as Kelli goes through the familiar mind over heart battle we've all gone through. Which wins in the end for her?

A cute story written in a way that makes it easy to fall into--it's as if one is reading a play-by-play a friend is writing to them. Both Kelli and Chase are easy to relate to, though, it would have been nice if the author gave us a bit more on Chase. He's a bit too mysterious (and, no, the one page dedicated to "solving" his mystery at the end of the book isn't enough!). The ending seems a bit rushed and eager to tie up loose ends but an overall enjoyable read! I'd definitely pack this one for the beach.

White Trash Beautiful by Teresa Mummert

We start off meeting our heroine (ironically, she's seemingly the only character who doesn't have a heroine addiction) Cass. Your typical trailer-park princess who's working at the diner, saving what she can to get out. Supports an addict parent and is in an abusive relationship with her addict boyfriend. In comes Tucker, knight in shining armour and BOOM--insta-love-attraction. We're swept up in their whirlwind of a love affair. Does Cass get her happy ending?

Overall an easy read but leaves me with a lot of unanswered questions--Tucker's character is not very well developed and leaves a reader wondering about him after the book ends. Overall, a bit far-fetched with the insta-connection between Cass and Tucker...how did he end up at that out-of-the-way diner that day, anyway? Cass's character gets a bit annoying as the book goes on as she's constantly throwing herself a pity-party. After all is said and done, though, I'll be looking for some answers in White Trash Damaged!

The Marriage Merger by Jennifer Probst

Julietta Conte is a strong and very accomplished business woman in Milan who's at the helm of the family business. Her work ethic has always kept her romantic life a second string. Through her brother-in-law, Julietta comes into contact with Sawyer Wells, an uber-successful businessman with a mysteriously concealed past. The charged connection Julietta and Sawyer make throws both of them off their games, so to say. With a substantial merger on the line, we watch the two try to manage and conquer their sexual and emotional attraction to each other. In this battle of business vs emotions, readers are left to wonder what will prevail--can they have their cake and eat it too?

An overall easy "beach read" with a fairly intense storyline with just enough tidbits about other characters to leave a first-time reader (to this series) to want to read the other novels in the Married to a Billionaire series. There are just enough erotic scenes without going overboard. I am definitely going to be reading the rest of the series and would definitely recommend this title!

Welcome to my bookshelf.

For those who know me, they know me as the girl who can devour three books in one weekend. The most popular question I get is, "what are you reading?" and that question is usually followed by a, "what's that about?"

...well, I guess this is my answer to all of those people.
