It took me a little bit to get into this book but I'm glad I stuck with it. Bodhi and Henna's The first little bit seemed a bit far reaching for me. Young girl falling madly in love with a stranger she had just met...then he shows up as the guidance counselor at school in her hometown. Didn't seem like something I would typically be interested in reading about. But as the story went on and the secondary characters, mainly Bodhi's father, comes into play, the story gets a whole new level of emotion and depth. My interest in the story grew immensely when the secondary storyline was brought in. Everything that Bodhi+Henna go through because of his father gives the story another depth and level of emotion. Loved what the story developed into. Definitely worth a read!

This was a short and sweet story to get through. You have Corinna, happy with everything in life aside from her love life, making it a goal to get super fit and find a super hot date to attend a wedding in a few weeks. She gets set up with a personal trainer to reach her goal and, to her surprise, he happens to be her high school crush--Noah, someone she hasn't thought of in just as many years. The two of them start spending time together and find that they still have feelings for each other. But there's a catch--Noah's boss has one rule in place--no dating clients! Will they figure out a way to be together or is their second chance doomed from the get go? This was an easy read, it's short and sweet but don't expect to get too invested in any of the characters as they don't get overly developed.

Cute story, I always like a cute story about love coming about when it's least convenient for you. That is just the case with Willa and Grady. Willa is avoiding relationships at all costs--so much so, that she's instituted a two-date policy whereby she only ever goes on two dates with possible suitors. Her policy has kept things neat and clean, no attachments, no heartbreak and no foul. But then enters Grady. Unexpectedly, the attraction and chemistry to that mistake stripper turns into more than she could have ever thought. Willa and Grady find every excuse to spend time together...all the "non-dates" that one can think of. As their attraction grows, so do the stakes at hand for Willa and everything she's worked so hard for. Easy to get through, loved the Smokejumper aspect as it reminded me of the Legacy series by Rebecca Yarros. There's something about men in uniform...

If this book wasn't gut wrenching, I don't know what is. Rebecca Yarros, once again, brings you to tears multiple times during this story. Camden Daniels returned from war only to leave his hometown never to return again. Six years later, he reappears in town with...the intentions to stay? The love of his life (and the one that he's vowed to stay away from) is still there and he's as drawn to her now as the day he left. But things are not as easy as picking up where he left off. Camden is returning to a town that hates him for having brought his little brother home in a casket so many years ago. His troubled past and badboy reputation precedes him. I’m a hopeless romantic and adore all things chocolate, coffee and paleo. No, seriously, I need to have a caffeine IV put in. I’ve adored reading all my life, and writing naturally evolved from my love of late nights and promises of one more page.

I’m also a military wife of sixteen years. During my husband’s deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I was devouring a book a day, and during his third deployment, I finally wrote my own. With a somewhat ironic timing, I received my book deal for Full Measures during his fourth deployment, and published a month after he returned home. We’re currently preparing for his fifth deployment, so check out the blog for the latest!

On the homefront, we have six kids. Yes, you read that right—six. If I’m not writing or playing guitar, I’m usually tying hockey skates for our four boys, or sneaking in John Hughes marathons with my two daughters. We fostered and adopted our youngest daughter from the foster system and we’re passionate about helping others do the same through our non-profit, One October! We’re always busy navigating the winding road of our daughter’s recent autism diagnosis, getting our boys to hockey, prepping for a deployment, and generally trying to stay sane. We’re die-hard Mets fans, but our hearts call Colorado home.
